Another great Action/Comedy buddy movie! The movie is about a bank robber named Miles Logan (Martin Lawrence) who steals a crafty jewel and then hides it in a construction site where his $20 Million heist went awry. Now that he is out of jail, he wants to get the loot back! But the problem was that the place where he hid it was now the new Los Angeles Police Station. So Miles goes in as a member of the LAPD and works with Carlson (Luke Wilson) a rookie at the LAPD. So now Miles gives up being a thief and becomes a detective. One of my most favorite Martin Lawrence movies ever! One of my favorite parts was when Miles was disguising as a wacky pizza delivery man. This is one of the most successful Martin Lawrence movies plus another one of the best movies of 1999! One of the best Martin Lawrence movies ever!Miles Logan is a jewel thief who just hit the big time by stealing a huge diamond. However, after two years in jail, he comes to find out that he hid the diamond in a police building that was being built at the time of the robbery. In an attempt to regain his diamond, he poses as an LAPD detective.

A businessman sinks $200 million into a special project to help fight Alzheimer’s disease. As part of this project, medical biologist Susan McAlester rather naughtily figures out a way to genetically enlarge shark brains, so that disease-battling enzymes can be harvested. However, the shark subjects become super smart and decide they don’t much like being cooped up in pens and being stabbed with hypodermics, so they figure a way to break out and make for the open sea..The people are an interesting band of characters. The female scientist, pleasing to the eye and the ear (I’m a sucker for accents), is utterly consumed by her research. (And for all you testosterone-driven males, she does strip down to her underwear in one scene.) Samuel L. Jackson goes about saying his lines as president of a pharmaceutical company. I just love the way Michael Rapaport talks: he’s welcome in any movie. LL Cool J deftly provides the comic relief and was clearly the audience favorite. Sure, there are some other characters, but pretty much everyone’s one-dimensional, as expected.
