The Reign of Assassins gave me the feeling of watching one of the great classics. It’s story is not the most original, but it gives a nice background for the viewer to see the beautiful acting and action scenes. At times it’s a love story at others a suspense flick with all the intrigue. The actors do a good job in conveying their emotions to the audience. Most of the characters get fleshed out, so your not only interested in the main characters. Tianhuo Island is a beautiful paradise. It almost makes people forget that it is located in the “Ring of Fire”, the world-famous Pacific Rim volcanic belt. At the same time, expedition expert Zheng Nan dives in the beautiful underwater cave, preparing to give his girlfriend Jiahui a romantic proposal. The volcano erupts, and the fate of these people are entangled. In order to see tomorrow, they must work together to find a way to survive.
