With the nation of Panem in a full scale war, Katniss confronts President Snow in the final showdown. An old and forgotten game develops magical powers in this fantasy for the whole family. Twelve-year-old Walter Budwing (Josh Hutcherson) and his younger brother, Danny (Jonah Bobo), figure they’re going to be in for a boring time when their father (Tim Robbins), who was supposed to spend the day with them, is suddenly called away on business, and gives them strict orders not to leave the house. Walter, who doesn’t have much use for Danny, is motivated by boredom more than anything else when he agrees to play a board game Danny has found in the basement during a round of hide-and-seek. However, the boys quickly discover the space-themed game Zathura has some unusual qualities —I’m not much of a critic so I’ll keep this short. Went to see this movie expecting a kids film, not expecting much, and was pleasantly surprised. The special effects in the movie were spectacular. It was still the basic ‘jumanji’ style story line, but it was a fun film with lots of visuals. The whole theater seemed to enjoy it, and there were actually a few darker scarier scenes that youngsters may find very frightening. My ten year old sister loved it, scared at a few parts too.I would think twice before bringing a child younger than 7 to see it.After their father is called into work, two young boys, Walter and Danny, are left in the care of their teenage sister, Lisa, and told they must stay inside. Walter and Danny, who anticipate a boring day, are shocked when they begin playing Zathura, a space-themed board game, which they realize has mystical powers when their house is shot into space. With the help of an astronaut, the boys attempt to return home.

Jesse Aarons trained all summer to become the fastest runner in school, so he’s very upset when newcomer Leslie Burke outruns him and everyone else. Despite this and other differences, including that she’s rich, he’s poor, and she’s a city girl, he’s a country boy, the two become fast friends. Together, they create Terabithia, a land of monsters, trolls, ogres, and giants and rule as king and queen.

With the Games destroyed, Katniss Everdeen, along with Gale, Finnick and Beetee, end up in the so thought “destroyed” District 13. Under the leadership of President Coin and the advice of her friends, Katniss becomes the “Mockingjay”, the symbol of rebellion for the districts of Panem. I’ve never been a fan of ‘The Hunger Games’ films. Having read the book trilogy a few years ago, the idea of having a film series based around the novels seemed like a good idea… Unfortunately, none of these films have lived up to the hype surrounding them. I walked into the cinema expecting something far better than the previous films, and by the end of the movie I was more disappointed than I have been with any other installment in the series.Katniss Everdeen reluctantly becomes the symbol of a mass rebellion against the autocratic Capitol.
