Sheriff Owens is a man who has resigned himself to a life of fighting what little crime takes place in sleepy border town Sommerton Junction after leaving his LAPD post following a bungled operation that left him wracked with failure and defeat after his partner was crippled. After a spectacular escape from an FBI prisoner convoy, the most notorious, wanted drug kingpin in the hemisphere is hurtling toward the border at 200 mph in a specially outfitted car with a hostage and a fierce army of gang members. He is headed, it turns out, straight for Summerton Junction, where the whole of U.S. law enforcement will have their last opportunity to make a stand and intercept him before he slips across the border forever. At first reluctant to become involved, and then counted out because of the perceived ineptitude of his small town force, Owens ultimately accepts responsibility for the face off.

After a couple of weeks seeking out his teenage daughter Maggie, Wade finds her in the quarantine wing of a hospital. Maggie has been infected by a lethal outbreak that transforms the victim into a zombie. Wade’s friend Dr. Vern Kaplan releases Maggie to spend her last days with Wade and her family. Her stepmother Caroline asks Wade to take their little kids to her sister’s house to keep them safe. While Maggie is slowly transformed, Wade stays with her protecting Maggie. But Dr. Vern warns him that the moment that he will have to take an ultimate decision is closer. Maggie tells the story of a father that only has a certain amount of time to spend with his daughter before this deadly epidemic that has infected her, turns her into a flesh eating zombie. First things first, this is not a horror movie, it is simply a dramatic film. I really enjoyed this film quite immensely even though it was very slow paced at times, it still managed to give a strong storyline that really took its time. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Oh My God, from all of the iconic roles he plays he really went deep into his character with this one and successfully managed to play a grieving father that is about to lose his daughter, he truly did a terrific job and a noteworthy performance. Same goes for Abigail Breslin, she really is coming off as a rising star and really did a great performance as well.There’s a deadly zombie epidemic threatening humanity, but Wade, a small-town farmer and family man, refuses to accept defeat even when his daughter Maggie becomes infected. As Maggie’s condition worsens and the authorities seek to eradicate those with the virus, Wade is pushed to the limits in an effort to protect her. Joely Richardson co-stars in this post-apocalyptic thriller.

There is a female City of Atlanta investigator in charge of the murders. After investigating the cartel angle, the twisted truth comes to light.

There are a few logical problems, like why is it the fireman, among thousands of security personnel in DC, that is the only one going after the killer, when the latter is trying to turn DC into an inferno
